ProctorSys → AI marking
AI answer book markingMarks the way your teachers mark, because your teachers sign every mark.
ProctorSys reads every handwritten answer book and suggests a mark and a reason for each answer, in pencil. Your teacher accepts it with one tap or changes it, in ink. The marks your pupils receive are your teachers' marks. The AI does the reading, the first draft and the adding up.

How it works
- Photograph or scan the answer books. A phone is enough. Pages are straightened and two-page notebook photos split before reading.
- The AI marks in pencil. For every question: a suggested mark, the reason, what it read and the page it read it from. An answer it cannot find is shown as "no answer found", never guessed.
- Your teacher signs in ink. Question by question, with the page to hand: accept the suggestion, or change the mark. The total adds itself.
- The school releases the results. Nothing reaches a pupil until then.
Tuned to each of your teachers
- The answer key is agreed with the subject teacher before a class is marked, including the other answers and methods that teacher accepts.
- The strictness is set for each exam, lenient or balanced, to match how that teacher marks long answers.
- After the first few books we compare the suggestions with the teacher's own marks, and adjust the key wherever they differ.
- The teacher always has the last word, question by question. A suggestion that is off costs a tap, never a wrong mark.
The report: every topic, with the names of the pupils who need it
Every question is tied to its chapter, so a marked class becomes a teaching plan instead of a list of totals:
- Which chapter the class missed, with the class's share of the marks in each.
- Which pupils need which topic: beside every chapter, the names of the pupils who need it, so a remedial class has names on it from the first day.
- One report card per child, in the school's name and logo: every chapter sorted into needs work, can improve and strong, where the marks were lost, and the teacher's remark. The whole class prints in one go.
| Chapter | Class score | Pupils who need it |
|---|---|---|
| Human eye | 41% | Kunal J., Sneha P., Aditya M. + 9 more |
| Light: reflection and refraction | 63% | Riya B., Mohit R. + 4 more |
| Electricity | 78% | Kunal J. + 1 more |
Illustrative, for a Class X Science paper: pupil names and figures are made up.
Questions schools ask
Does the AI decide our pupils' marks?
No. The AI suggests a mark and a reason for each answer, in pencil. A teacher accepts it with one tap or changes it, and no suggestion counts until the teacher has. Nothing reaches a pupil until the school releases the results.
Can it follow our teachers' way of marking?
Yes. Before a class is marked, the answer key is agreed with the subject teacher, including the other answers and methods that teacher accepts, and the strictness is set for the exam. After the first few books the suggestions are compared with the teacher's own marks and the key is adjusted. And because the teacher signs every mark, the final marks are always in the teacher's own style.
What does the class report show?
Every question is tied to its chapter. The report shows which chapter the class missed and, beside every chapter, the names of the pupils who need it, so a remedial class has names on it. Each child also gets a one-page report card in the school's name and logo.
What if a photographed page is blurred or sideways?
ProctorSys straightens each page and splits a two-page notebook photo before reading it. Where it cannot find an answer on the page, it says "no answer found" instead of guessing a mark, and the teacher sees the page it read from. Sharp, upright photos of one page at a time give the best suggestions.
Which subjects and classes does it mark?
Handwritten answer books in any subject with an answer key. At Mallikarjun School, Pithoragarh it has marked Class X and XII books in English, Biology, Physical Education, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Hindi, Accountancy, Business Studies, Political Science, Geography and History.
Where is our data kept?
On servers in Mumbai, with daily backups and an encrypted second copy. When AI marking is switched on for an exam, photographs of the answer sheets and the questions are sent to an AI provider, OpenAI or Anthropic, which both state they do not train on this data and delete it within 30 days. Nothing else about the pupil is sent.
See it on your own answer books
One class, one exam, your answer key. Your teachers sign the marks, and you see the class report and the report cards before you decide anything.
